Half past five on a Saturday at the Tennessee State Fair, thirty six minutes, the whole set. Fairground shows are the honest ones. Nobody paid to sit down, so nobody owes you their attention, and the moment a show stops being worth watching people simply carry on walking to the next thing. Every second in this recording survived that test in front of a live crowd. The volunteers are fairgoers. They were holding a drink twenty minutes earlier and had no intention of ending up on a stage. That is most of the fun of it, and it is why the reactions in the seats are as good as the ones on the chairs. Nobody is asleep, nobody is under anyone's control, and nobody does anything they would not laugh about later. It is a group of people agreeing to stop overthinking in public, which turns out to be the funniest thing most of them do all year. Rent it for the weekend or own it outright. It plays on anything with a screen.
